(Correspondent Han Yibo) The APS March meeting was held in New Orleans, USA, March 13 to 17, 2017. More than 8,000 physics researchers which from more than 30 countries attracted to attend this meeting. APS March meeting held once a year. This meeting covering virtually all areas of physics such as condensed matter physics, quantum computing, biophysics, new functional materials and so on. In accordance with the subject classification, the meeting has more than 30 parallel agenda, each sub-site Invited and Focus are the most talked about topics. And there are the famous physicists who actives in the first line of scientific research reported about the latest research progress. So the meeting in the field of physics is very influential.

Three teachers from Wuhan national High Magnetic Field CenterZengwei Zhu, Yibo Han, Xuefei Liattended the meeting.Professor Zengwei Zhu made a invitation report titled "Valleytronics and Nematicity in bulk bismuth", put forward that valley polarization Dirac electron flow can be generated in the bismuth by the control of the magnetic fields, and found that there is triple broken symmetry magnetic resistance in the electron flow with the increase of magnetic field and the decrease of temperature. The findings based on the experimental observation that Bismuth ‘s cyclotron energy is large enough to make the Fermi sea be cleared under the pulse magnetic field for the first time .The report received extensive attention from the international counterparts. Yibo Han and Xuefei Li teacher made report about III - VI semiconductor diamagnetic fluorescence displacement under high magnetic field and new two-dimensional material optoelectronic devices respectively, and introduced the High magnetic field’s unique electric transport, magneto optical and scanning probe measurement system, etc.

During the meeting, teacher from high magnetic field center actively communicated with counterparts at home and abroad, especially ,the peers from the high magnetic field laboratories in the United States, France and other countries discussed about the research prospects of condensed matter and optics under high magnetic field .Through the meeting, the center met many colleagues in theoretical physics and materials physics, and laid a good foundation for the future international cooperation and high level scientific research.
