主 题:High-Field Magnet Development at the NHMFL
摘 要:The NHMFL is a high magnetic field facility open to the use of scientists from around the world. It presently provides the highest field pulsed, hybrid, resistive and superconducting magnets in the world. Work on split resistive magnets, cable-in-conduit hybrid magnets and YBCO superconducting magnets for various labs in the US and Europe is presented.

嘉宾介绍:Dr. Mark D. Bird completed a PhD in Mechanical Engineering at Stanford University in 1992. He joined the NHMFL later that year and led the development of the Florida-Bitter magnet technology and more than a dozen world record resistive magnets. In 2006 he became the Director of the Magnet Science and Technology Division and is now leading the development of cable-in-conduit magnets for labs in the US and Europe.
